Spokane Rapture

We wouldn’t be making this movie if there hadn’t been an amazing collection of punks, new wavers, artists, weirdos, entrepreneurs, students, dropouts, and assorted other interesting, creative people making something happen in Spokane back in the 80′s. If you ever went to a show, a gallery opening, a party, or in any other way were a part of this unique time and place, you’ve already made an enormous contribution.

But to make the movie, we need other types of contributions. We need old videos, music, photos, posters, zines, and stuff. And we need help interviewing Spokane scenesters who are now scattered all over the place. Of course, we also need money, but more about that in a bit.

Now for the money. We don’t want to just make a video to show each other some weekend — we want something that’s good enough to submit to film festivals. We’re nailing down the budget, and looking to keep costs down while also doing this thing right. Our target is to raise $25,000 from a variety of sources. It seems like a lot, but when we started telling people about this project, we got $4,005 towards our goal in just a few days. With your help we can make this thing happen.
