At the dawn of the 1980′s a few kids in a small city started wearing funny clothes and listening to funny music. Big deal.

The same thing happened in lots of small cities. But from the very beginning Spokane’s scene had a creative energy that seemed bigger than the time and place.

Amazing bands formed, broke up, reformed, became other bands. People opened clubs, galleries, and their homes to support what was happening.

In 2009, 30 years after the first rumblings began, many of the people who were part of what happened in the 80′s are converging on Spokane again. Hundreds of them have reconnected through a Facebook group page. Why would so many want to revisit that period in their lives? Is it just nostalgia or is there more to it than that?

Follow us as we go DIY and make a movie about a unique time and place, and the unique people it helped shape. It’s a story that needs to be told with interviews, archival material, and a little attitude.
